Our Philosophy

At Maya Montessori, we believe every child deserves to feel safe, seen, and genuinely understood. Our home-based setting offers a calm, nurturing space where young learners can build confidence, curiosity, and independence at their own pace.

Inspired by the Montessori method and guided by over a decade of experience, we follow each child’s natural rhythm—offering meaningful choices, gentle boundaries, and developmentally appropriate challenges. We honor the small, everyday moments that shape a child’s sense of self and trust in the world.

Here, children are not rushed. They are encouraged to explore, repeat, and master real-life tasks with joy and purpose. From putting on their own shoes to caring for a plant, each experience fosters resilience, focus, and deep internal satisfaction.

Through hands-on learning, consistent routines, and loving guidance, we help children grow into kind, capable individuals—ready not just for school, but for life.

“The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.” — Dr. Maria Montessori

Meet the Director

My name is Pantea Safaei, and I’m honored to serve as the Director of Maya Montessori. My journey into education has been both unexpected and deeply fulfilling. I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering and a Master’s in Persian Literature—fields that taught me how structure and creativity can work in harmony. Before coming to the U.S., I taught dramatic and creative literature to children and college students, which showed me how powerfully children flourish when they feel engaged and inspired.

After relocating to Texas, I discovered Montessori education and knew I had found my path. I’ve worked as a teacher assistant, lead guide, and assistant director in several respected Montessori schools, and in 2020, I began my formal Montessori certification. Its philosophy—rooted in respect, independence, and hands-on exploration—resonated with everything I already believed about how children grow best.

Today, as both a mother and an educator, I’ve created Maya Montessori to be a warm, home-based environment where children feel safe, valued, and free to learn at their own pace. My mission is to offer every child not just care and guidance, but the kind of deep connection that helps them grow with confidence, joy, and a lasting love of learning.
